After installing SQL Server 2008, I cannot find the SQL Server Configuration Manager
in Start / SQL Server 2008 / Configuration Tools
menu.
What should I do to install this tool?
If you happen to be using Windows 8 and up, here's how to get to it:
The newer Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager is a snap-in for the Microsoft Management Console program.
It is not a stand-alone program as used in the previous versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
SQL Server Configuration Manager doesn’t appear as an application when running Windows 8.
To open SQL Server Configuration Manager, in the Search charm, under Apps, type:
SQLServerManager15.msc
for [SQL Server 2019] or
SQLServerManager14.msc
for [SQL Server 2017] or
SQLServerManager13.msc
for [SQL Server 2016] or
SQLServerManager12.msc
for [SQL Server 2014] or
SQLServerManager11.msc
for [SQL Server 2012] or
SQLServerManager10.msc
for [SQL Server 2008], and then press Enter.
