I'm new to Python and Flask and I'm trying to do the equivalent of Response.redirect
as in C# - ie: redirect to a specific URL - how do I go about this?
Here is my code:
import os
from flask import Flask
app = Flask(__name__)
@app.route('/')
def hello():
return 'Hello World!'
if __name__ == '__main__':
# Bind to PORT if defined, otherwise default to 5000.
port = int(os.environ.get('PORT', 5000))
app.run(host='0.0.0.0', port=port)
You have to return a redirect:
import os
from flask import Flask,redirect
app = Flask(__name__)
@app.route('/')
def hello():
return redirect("http://www.example.com", code=302)
if __name__ == '__main__':
# Bind to PORT if defined, otherwise default to 5000.
port = int(os.environ.get('PORT', 5000))
app.run(host='0.0.0.0', port=port)
See the documentation on flask docs. The default value for code is 302 so code=302
can be omitted or replaced by other redirect code (one in 301, 302, 303, 305, and 307).
