You have to declare the below parameter in the POM :

<distributionManagement>

    <repository>
        <id>releases</id>
        <name>Releases</name>
        <url>http://localHost:8080/repository/YourRepo/</url>
    </repository>

    <snapshotRepository>
        <id>snapshots</id>
        <name>Snapshots</name>
        <url>http://localHost:8080/repository/YourRepo/</url>
    </snapshotRepository>
</distributionManagement>

Both repository (release and snapshots ) point in same repo in archiva

Snapshot option should be enabled on YourRepo in archiva

you have to declare the below parameter in the Setting XML:

<settings xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/SETTINGS/1.0.0"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/SETTINGS/1.0.0
                  http://maven.apache.org/xsd/settings-1.0.0.xsd">
 <servers>
<server>
  <id>YourRepo</id>
  <username>admin</username>
  <password>password</password>
</server>
<server>
  <id>releases</id>
  <username>admin</username>
  <password>password</password>
</server>
</servers>
</settings>

After that you can run : mvn deploy

It works for me
