How to delete a cookie?

Is my function of creating a cookie correct? How do I delete the cookie at the beginning of my program? is there a simple coding?

function createCookie(name,value,days)

function setCookie(c_name,value,1) {
  document.cookie = c_name + "=" +escape(value);
}

function eraseCookie(c_name) {

  if( get_cookie( name ) ) {
    document.cookie = name + "=" +
      ((path) ? ";path="+path:"")+
      ((domain)?";domain="+domain:"") +
      ";expires=Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:01 GMT";
  }
}

You can define get_cookie() like this:

function get_cookie(name){
    return document.cookie.split(';').some(c => {
        return c.trim().startsWith(name + '=');
    });
}
