I'm developing Spring MVC + Spring-data-jpa + querydsl to which I'm newbie. When I write a code for querydsl (before that code was working fine), when I added querydsl related code, I started getting the following error not sure what's going wrong. Please guide.

The error for reference:

org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'visitRepository': Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Validation failed for query for method public abstract java.util.List com.journaldev.spring.repository.VisitRepository.findByVisitType()!

Ok, I got the solution for this. I should not be using Table name, it should be always Model/Entity name. This (@Query("SELECT v FROM Visit v WHERE v.visitType='NEW'")) resolves problem.

@Repository
public interface VisitRepository extends JpaRepository<Visit, Integer>,
        QueryDslPredicateExecutor<Visit>{
    List<Visit> findByVisitType(String visitType);

    @Query("SELECT v FROM Visit v WHERE v.visitType='NEW'")
    List<Visit> findByVisitType();
}
